How to change your default Location

You'll always have one location set as your default, in this article we explain how to change your default.


You can change your default location either via you Shopify admin or via the Australia Post Shipping app.

Edits made in Shopify will be reflected in Australia Post Shipping once you Resync Locations.

Edits made in Australia Post Shipping aren't reflected in your Shopify admin but they do override your Shopify settings. In other words, when the app is quoting rates to your customers at the checkout or using location information for order fulfillment, it will preference location information you have input to Australia Post Shipping over the Shopify location information.

We're outlined below the two different ways you could change your default location.

How to change your default location in Australia Post Shipping

  • Click View on the location you wish to make the default.

  • Scroll down and select Default shipping origin, then click Save.

Remember, this change won't be reflected in your Shopify admin, but will override your Shopify settings.

How to change your default location in Shopify

  • From your Shopify dashboard, click Settings, then Locations.

    Here you'll see a list of locations, and the default location will be marked.

  • Click Change default location.

  • Select your preferred default, then click Save.

  • The last thing you need to do is Resync your Locations in Australia Post Shipping so the app is made aware of this change.
