How to edit a Location

Setting up locations allows you to track inventory, quote accurate shipping rates and provides 'sender details' for shipping labels. Once you've set up your locations, you might need to edit the location name, address or other details. This article will show you how.


You can edit locations either via you Shopify admin or via the Australia Post Shipping app.

Edits made in Shopify will be reflected in Australia Post Shipping once you Resync Locations.

Edits made in Australia Post Shipping aren't reflected in your Shopify admin but they do override your Shopify settings. In other words, when the app is quoting rates to your customers at the checkout or using location information for order fulfillment, it will preference location information you have input to Australia Post Shipping over the Shopify location information.

We're outlined below the two different ways you could edit your locations.

How to edit a Location in Australia Post Shipping

  • Click View on the location you wish to edit.

  • Make any changes you need, then click Save.

Remember, these changes won't be reflected in your Shopify admin, but these settings do override your Shopify settings.

How to edit a Location in Shopify

  • From your Shopify dashboard, click Settings, then Locations.

    Here you'll see a list of locations.

  • Click on the location you wish to edit.

  • On the this screen make any changes you need, then click Save.

  • The last thing you need to do is Resync your Locations in Australia Post Shipping so the app is made aware of this change.
