How to enable international shipping

Learn how to apply international shipping to your products.

If you'd like to enable Australia Post Shipping rates for international orders follow the process in this video, or stepped out below:

Enable Australia Post's international shipping rates

  • Go to your Shopify Dashboard. For example: yourshopname.myshopify.com

  • Click Settings in the bottom left corner.

  • Then click Shipping and delivery from the list of options.

  • Click Manage rates on the shipping profile you'd like to edit.

I can see from my list of shipping profiles that my 'Fragile' profile only has shipping to Australia set up. So I'm going to add an international zone also.

  • Scroll down to the 'Shipping to' section. In my example I already have a zone called Domestic, which includes only Australia. At the bottom of this screen it reminds me there are 241 Countries and regions not included in my other zones. This is a good way to see if you have left any regions out.

From here you can click Create shipping zone either at the bottom or to the right of 'Shipping to'.

  • On this screen name your zone and pick which regions will be included. I've decided to put all of the other countries and regions into a catch all zone called 'Rest of World'. You can choose to break down your international zones if you like. Click Done when you have selected the countries to be included.

  • Next, click Add rate, toward the bottom of the page, under the new zone you just created. In the 'Add rate' window, choose Use carrier or app to calculate rates to turn on Australia Post Shipping rates. Make sure Australia Post Shipping is the selected rates provider. Select the services you wish to offer, then click Done.

  • Lastly, make sure to save your changes by clicking the Save button at the top right.

And you're done! You've now enabled Australia Post's international rates to display for the zones you selected.
