How to setup a paid collection option

Learn how to offer your customers a paid collection option on checkout.


If you need to set up a collection option for your customers, there are two ways to go about it.

If you're offering the pickup service free of charge follow the guide How to set up a free local pickup option.

If you are offering the pickup service for a fee follow this guide below.

You can set up a paid warehouse or store collection option for your customers by setting up a shipping profile especially for that purpose.

Setting up a paid collection option

  • Go to your Shopify Dashboard. For example: your-shop-name.myshopify.com

  • Click Settings in the bottom left corner. Then Shipping and delivery from the list of options.

  • Click Create new profile, on the right of the 'Rates at checkout' section.

  • Give your new shipping profile a name, and add products you wish to link to this profile.

  • Next add a zone to your shipping profile. Scroll down to the 'Shipping to' section and click Create shipping zone. Name and add locations that make up your new zone and click Done.

  • Next add rates to your shipping zone. Under the shipping zone you just created click Add rate. Leave the rate set to 'Set up your own rates', give your rate a name (customers will see this name in checkout) and apply a cost (or keep it free). Click Done.

  • Make sure to save your changes, click the Save button at bottom right to save the new shipping profile.

Congratulations, you've now set up your new paid collection option for your customers.
